As you may already know the TrafficClash Platform has 2 integration options
1) The fastlink
2) The JavaScript

The fastlink is like the word itself says, a link. And a link always has to link to something (duh). That’s why you need to enter a redirection URL for regular PC traffic (and also may enter a separate extra URL for Mobile traffic)

The JavaScript however already gets copy/pasted in your website. Meaning that a part of the visitors that are hitting your website may not have to be redirected at all, but kept on that page.

Assume a TrafficClash user is running www.Shoestore.com which is providing services to USA and Canada. Assume the user wants to redirect visitors from all other countries to a different page.

Also assume the TrafficClash user pastes the JavaScript on his index page.
The TrafficClash campaign should now keep his USA and Canadian visitors on the page and redirects all other countries.

This can be done with the JavaScript Control options.

The group with the USA and Canada can be set to “stay on the same page”



And the group that contains all other countries can simply be set to redirect group (to the destination URl(s) you give above)



However we can understand that in some occasions you want to let your customers choose whether they want to be redirected to your redirect destination URL or stay on your page.

That’s why we have added the option ’Automatically redirect” or “Manually”.

If you select “automatically” your traffic will just get redirected to your redirect URL(s) if you select “manually” we will give a popup in which your visitors can select whether they want to be redirected or stay on the page,




On top of that you can customize the texts your visitors see in the popup.




Simple enough right?

If you are not planning to use the fastlink for the TrafficClash Campaign but just the JavaScript and you set a group to “Stay on the same page” then you can enter as redirect URL the actual page where you place the javascript (the page where you want to keep the visitors). It is not actually redirecting but since you need to enter a redirect URL to make the fastlinks work that’s the best way to go.
